Dear Anton,
Yes, I am pretty sure if I ran a snowboardsurfing shop the last thing I would want is people new to the sport mistakenly entering my premises with the intention of exchanging goods for money. What a bunch of ‘loosers’. You should probably have that on your front door instead of the welcome sign. Otherwise, people might read the word ‘welcome’ and mistakenly think they are welcome.
Perhaps you could incorporate a sign similar to the ‘You must be this tall to ride’ kind displayed at carnivals, but amend it to ‘You must be this cool to enter’ with a big red arrow pointing to photos of Fatty, Tattooey and Fuzzy.

Solar graphic greatness
One of my favourite places to visit is the always amazing UnderConsideration, a blog described as “A growing network and enterprise dedicated to the progress of the graphic design profession and its practitioners, students and enthusiasts.”
In evidence of the greatness found at UC, I present the following from a full set of Solar System prints designed by Ross Berens, a 21 year old design student who created each image in 3 hours or less:

nike + danny kass x arbito
I think I already wrote a post about these boots when I first saw the Nike campaign last year but for some reason they have been in my head all day and I had to look them up again. Not only are the boots unbelievably rad, but I figured out why they were in my head… It’s the damn catchy tune Kass used on his Yellow Submarine-esque video for the collab with Seattle artist Arbito

If you’re reading this post, you probably spend a lot of time at your computer. And if you’re like most people who work long into the night, be it coding the matrix, writing your legal defence or designing the next YouPorn, you probably prefer to listen to lyricless, ambient music in the background.

Murderburger
I can’t vouch for the quality of their food, but judging from their blog (and associated new menu item posts) I’m pretty confident that the awesomely named Murderburger in NZ is…well..awesome.
See examples below and then go here for more. Really, go there.

I’m posting this little guy for no reason other than he’s ridiculously cute and made me happy on an otherwise boring Monday morning. Porcupines are ace.
Vivian Maier – Street photographer extraordinaire
Vivian Maier was a Chicago street photographer long before the vast majority of those doing so today (and blogging prolifically about it) were even born. Her work was discovered a couple of years ago at a furniture and antique auction by John Maloof and since then he has been slowly developing her negatives and posting images to his blog.
“From what I know, the auction house acquired her belongings from her storage locker that was sold off due to delinquent payments. I didn’t know what ‘street photography’ was when I purchased them.
Out of the more than 100,000 negatives I have in the collection, about 20-30,000 negatives were still in rolls, undeveloped from the 1960’s-1970’s. I have been successfully developing these rolls. I must say, it’s very exciting for me. Most of her negatives that were developed in sleeves have the date and location penciled in French.
I decided to Google her about a year after I purchased these only to find her obituary placed the day before my search. She passed only a couple of days before that inquiry on her. I wanted to meet her in person well before I found her obituary but, the auction house had stated she was ill, so I didn’t want to bother her. So many questions would have been answered if I had.”
Maloof has also started a Kickstarter fund to pay for a feature length film about Vivian and it’s awesome to see that this has already hit its goal with 66 days to go.
Do yourself a favor this Friday arvo and spend half an hour checking out her other incredible images here.
