NYC, A Runner’s Landscape

Here are just a few examples of the amazing work being done by the students at SVA (School of Visual Arts) in New York.
The projects aim to bring Nike+ data visualisations to life through stunning infographics and even this timelapse of runners taking to the streets during a 24 hour period.

This new parenting book hasn’t even been released yet and it’s already number one on the Amazon hit list by pre-prders alone.

EDIT: This gets even better. Check out the full story of how internet piracy and a great e-book title can get you to the top of Amazon before you’ve even put a book together. (via the Bay Citizen)

Good advice

You’re getting a smack. And it’s going to hurt.
This Christmas, you’re getting one present.
Your team lost. Get over it.

The Man In Blue is an interesting dude… Like me, he seems keen to dabble in a lot of different creative pursuits. From design to writing code, the guy seems to be across everything interesting on the internet – even music production.

His latest effort is titled Anatomy of a Mashup: Definitive Daft Punk and I’m pretty sure if you have eyes and/or ears, you are going to love it.
While far from technically mind blowing, it’s the MIB’s creative execution of a very simple idea that is most impressive.

No, this isn’t a joke. And believe me, if you’ve ever sat through a 3D flick with a migraine (or near someone who suffers from them) you will know just how UNfunny they can be.

Hank Green’s migraine-enduring wife was happy to go see the new Tron film, but only if it was in the traditional 2D cinema.
Unperturbed, Hank got out an old pair of 3D glasses and his tools, eventually turning them into the ultimate anti-Hollywood weapon, the amazing 2D glasses!

Ever thought of a feature in Facebook you wanted to change or add? Well so did this guy… So he’s built an entire website dedicated to pointing out all the things he could do better than Mark Zuckerberg and the Facebook design team.

It’s actually less humorous than what you might expect from a blog with the word Yo in the title, but we’re not posting this one because it’s funny… We think it’s ace because Youssef Sarhan saw something he wanted to change and he’s actually gone out there and done something about it.

We wanted to start documenting cool stuff we saw online, so in early 2010 we started That’s Ace.

What cool stuff are you building…?
We’d love to share it with the world!
